Browns DE Alex Wright Out for the 2024 Season
On Thursday October 3rd ,2024, Cleveland Browns defensive end Alex Wright announced on Instagram that he will be out for the remainder of the 2024 season due to a torn tricep injury. On his Instagram post Wright explained to Cleveland Browns fans that injury dates to the week 2 game at Jacksonville. In that game Wright scored a key safety late in the 4th quarter with a sack of Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence in their endzone. Wright’s injury became progressively worse in the following weeks and now requires surgery for the torn tricep muscle. Unfortunately for Browns fans and the Cleveland Browns organization injuries are starting pile up much like they did in 2023.
Last week in Las Vegas the Cleveland Browns offense was without 6 starters, and four of those missing starters were on the offensive line. Center Ethan Pocic, right guard Wyatt Teller, left tackle Jed Wills, right tackle Jack Conklin were all out of the game because of injuries. The other two missing starters were running back Nick Chubb and tight end David Njoku. Despite this there is some better news on the injury front.
Last Wednesday for the first time since his horrible knee injury, Nick Chubb practiced with the Cleveland Browns. Which is a huge step in his rehab to getting back on the field for game days. Tight end David Njoku also practiced with the team for the second week in a row. I don’t think that either of these players will Sunday against Washington. Other good news has both offensive tackles Jed Wills and Jack Conklin were limited participants in practice for the Cleveland Browns. It is possible that they could play on Sunday. We will have to wait and see. For Alex Wright this is disappointing for both him and Cleveland Browns fans. But we all wish him a speedy recovery.
