Around the NFC West: Week 15
Christian McCaffery went off for the San Francisco 49ers in their 45-29 win over the Arizona Cardinals. McCaffery ended the day with 187 yards from scrimmage with three total touchdowns. Brock Purdy, who threw for 242 yards and four touchdowns, said after the game that McCaffery should be the MVP of the NFL this season. It is hard to argue with that at this point. For the Cardinals, rookie tight end Trey McBride continued his fantastic season catching ten passes for 102 yards. He has been Kyler Murray’s favorite target since Murray returned from IR around a month ago. The 49ers have a huge game against the Baltimore Ravens on Christmas night this week. The Cardinals play the Chicago Bears in week 16.
The Los Angeles Rams have won four of their last five games. This week they were 28-20 winners over the Washington Commanders. Kyren Williams is emerging as a star in the league. He carried the ball 27 times in this one for 152 yards and a touchdown. Cooper Kupp added right catches for 111 yards and a touchdown. The Rams play the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football this week.
It was a dramatic 20-17 win for the Seattle Seahawks over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football in week 15. Drew Lock found Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 29-yard touchdown with 28 seconds left in the game to give Seattle the lead. The Seahawks’ defense was able to get their second interception of the Jalen Hurts on the ensuing drive to seal the game. Lock threw for 208 yards and a touchdown in the win. It looks like Geno Smith will be ready to play for the Seahawks when they take on the Tennessee Titans in week 16.
