Around the NFC West: Week 11
Is Brock Purdy a legitimate candidate for NFL MVP? He sure looked like it on Sunday when he threw for 333 yards and 3 touchdowns in the 49ers 27-14 over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brandon Aiyuk was his favorite target on the day catching five passes for 156 yards a touchdown. The San Francisco defense sacked Baker Mayfield four times and picked him off once in the win. The 49ers play the Seattle Seahawks on Thanksgiving night.
Speaking of the Seahawks, they lost to the Los Angeles Rams 17-16 in week 11. It was a pretty pedestrian game until the Rams rattled off 10 point in the fourth quarter for the come from behind win. Seattle had a field goal attempt with eight seconds left, but Jason Myers pushed the 55-yard kick wide right. Geno Smith was injured in the game and his status for this week is up in the air. The Rams travel to Arizona to play the Cardinals in week 12 while the Seahawks play the 49ers on Thanksgiving.
The Arizona Cardinals lost 21-16 to the Houston Texans on Sunday. Kyler Murray threw for 214 yards with one touchdown and one interception in his second start of the season. The Cardinals defense had a tough day against C.J. Stroud who threw for 336 yards but they were able to intercept him three times.
