Around the NFC South: Week 13
It was not pretty, but the Atlanta Falcons got a 13-8 win over the New York Jets in week 13. Desmond Ridder did just enough to help his team get the win. He threw for 121 yards and a touchdown. The most important thing for Ridder in this one is that he did not turn the ball over. Oddly enough, the Falcons had three fumbles in this game but were able to recover all three. The Falcons have a big divisional showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week 14.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got a 21-18 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. It was another huge day for Mike Evans who had seven catches for 162 yards and a touchdown. Rachaad White chipped in 106 all-purpose yards and a touchdown of his own. Chuba Hubbard was the star of the game for the Panthers. He had 104 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Bryce Young’s struggles continued. The first overall pick threw for just 178 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. The Buccaneers play the Falcons on Sunday while the Panthers travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints.
Speaking of the New Orleans Saints, they fell 33-28 to the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Derek Carr threw for 226 yards before leaving the game with multiple injuries. Jameis Winston took over for Carr and threw for 41 yards. Chris Olave led the Saints with 119 yards receiving and Alvin Kamara chipped in two rushing touchdowns.
