Around the NFC South: Week 10

The New Orleans Saints’ two-game winning streak came to an end at the hands of Josh Dobbs 27-19. The game saw the Saints lose Derek Carr to an injury and be replaced by Jameis Winston who ended the day with 122 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Both of those interceptions came late in the fourth quarter with New Orleans trying to mount a comeback. Jameis giveth and Jameis taketh away. The Saints also lost Michael Thomas and Marcus Lattimore to injuries in this game. New Orleans has their bye in week 11. That will give them some time to heal up before returning to action in week 12.

Tampa Bay cruised to an easy 20-6 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Mike Evans had a huge game in the win with 6 catches for 143 yards and a touchdown. The Buccaneers’ defense sacked Will Levis four times and held him under 200 yards passing. They also limited the Titans to just 42 yards rushing in the contest. The Bucs travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers this Sunday.

The Falcons lost their third straight game on Sunday 25-23 against the Arizona Cardinals. Atlanta had a really nice day on the ground rushing for 184 yards. Unfortunately for them, they did not enjoy the same success through the air. Between Taylor Heinicke and Desmond Ridder the Falcons only gained 70 yards passing. That’s not enough to win games in any era of the NFL, especially today’s game. The Falcons are off in week 11.

Week 11 saw the Carolina Panthers lose their second straight. This time it was a 16-13 loss to the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football. Bryce Young’s struggles continued as he threw for just 185 yards in the contest. He did not get any help from his run game as they totaled just 43 yards. The only touchdown the Panthers got in this game came on a punt return. The Panthers have their bye in week 11.
