Around the NFC North: Week 17

In the most controversial game of week 17, the Detroit Lions lost 20-19 to the Dallas Cowboys. The Lions thought they had a two-point conversion to take the lead but were called for a penalty because the wrong offensive lineman reported as eligible. Detroit was furious with the referee, but he announced a different player as the eligible receiver before the play. Dan Campbell still elected to try a two-point conversion after the penalty but it failed. The Lions take on the Minnesota Vikings in week 18.

The Green Bay Packers got a much needed win 33-10 over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football. The win allows the Packers to control their own destiny for the playoffs. A win in week 18 over the Chicago Bears will send them to the postseason. Jordan Love continued his solid season with 256 passing yards and three touchdowns. Bo Melton and Jayden Reed both had six catches in the win over the Vikings. Melton had one touchdown while Reed had two. The Vikings started Jaren Hall at quarterback but turned to Nick Mullens after Hall struggled. Mullens threw for 113 yards and a touchdown in relief. The Vikings still have a chance to make the playoffs but need a week 18 win against the Lions and a lot of help to make the playoffs.

In Chicago, the Bears ran their way to a 37-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons. The Bears rushing attack racked up 192 yards on 37 carries. Khalil Herbert led the way with 18 carries for 124 yards and a touchdown. Both Justin Fields and Roschon Johnson also had rushing touchdowns. Fields also threw for 268 yards and a touchdown. He has been really good since coming back from an injury that held him out in the middle of the season. The Bears have a big decision to make on Fields this offseason. Do they roll with Fields and get better around him or trade him and draft a quarterback?
