Around the NFC North: Week 16
The Detroit Lions got a 30-24 win over the Minnesota Vikings to clinch their first division title in 30 years. Jared Goff threw for 257 yards and a touchdown in the win. His favorite target on the day was Amon-Ra St. Brown who had twelve catches for 106 yards and a touchdown. The Lions running backs, Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, combine for 135 yards and three touchdowns. For the Vikings, Nick Mullens threw for 411 yards but threw four interceptions with the last one coming with just 49 seconds left in the game. Justin Jefferson finished the game with six catches for 141 yards and a touchdown. The Lions take on the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday. The Vikings take on the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football.
The Green Bay Packers escaped Carolina with a 33-30 win over the Panthers. Jordan Love continued his solid play with 219 yards passing and two touchdowns. Aaron Jones rushed for 127 yards in the win. The win keeps the Packers’ slim playoff hopes alive for now. Green Bay takes on the Vikings on Sunday Night Football in week 17.
It was a huge rushing day for the Chicago Bears in their 27-16 win over the Arizona Cardinals. They had 250 yards on the ground with Khalil Herbert accounting for 112 of those yards and Justin Fields adding 97. Each guy scored a touchdown on the ground. Fields would add another touchdown through the air. Cole Kmet had a big day catching four passes for 107 yards. Things might have been quite a bit different in Chicago had Justin Fields not missed time in the middle of the season. The Bears play the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
