Around the NFC North: Week 12
All of a sudden the Green Bay Packers are making a run in the NFC North. They have won three of their last four games after losing four in a row. Their biggest win of the season came on Thanksgiving when they beat the Detroit Lions 29-22. It was a big day for Jordan Love who threw for 268 yards and three touchdowns. Christian Watson, who has been inconsistent for much of the season, had five catches for 94 yards and a touchdown. The Packers’ offensive line did a great job keeping Love upright. He was not sacked in the contest. For the Lions, Jared Goff had a big day of his own throwing for 332 yards and two touchdowns. His favorite targets on the day were Amon-Ra St. Brown (9/95) and Kalif Raymond (5/90). The Packers host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football this week while the Lions travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints.
The Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings faced off on Monday Night Football this week. The Bears emerged with a 12-10 win in a game that featured six turnovers and no touchdowns until the fourth quarter. The quarterback formally known as the Passtronaut, Josh Dobbs, through four picks in this one. Dobbs has had a tough go of it in Minnesota after leading them to the improbable win in his first game with the team two weeks ago. Justin Field did not throw any interceptions, but he did fumble twice. In the end, he led the Bears down the field to set up the game-winning field goal from Cairo Santos with just 10 seconds left in the game. Field finished with 217 yards passing and 59 yards rushing. The Bears and Vikings both have their bye week in week 13.
