Around the NFC North: Week 10
We are 10 weeks into the NFL season and the Detroit Lions are in first place in the AFC North. What a time to be alive! The Lions won in dramatic fashion in week 10 when they knocked off the Los Angeles Chargers 41-38. The offense was clicking on all cylinders in this one. Jared Goff threw for 333 yards and two touchdowns. David Montgomery carried the ball 12 times for 116 yards and a touchdown. Jahmyr Gibbs rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns. Detroit has won six of their last seven games. They will look to make that seven of eight when they host the Chicago Bears in week 11.
The Passtronaut, Josh Dobbs, continued his improbably season on Sunday when he led the Minnesota Vikings to a 27-19 win over the New Orleans Saints. Dobbs threw for 268 yards and ran for 44 yards in the victory. Minnesota has won five in a row at a time when some people thought their season was over when Kirk Cousins went down for the season. The Vikings play the Denver Broncos in week 11 on Sunday Night Football.
Things are not going so well for the Green Bay Packers. They fell 23-19 to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. They had the ball on Pittsburgh’s 16-yard line with three seconds left, but Jordan Love threw an interception that ended the game. The Packers now find themselves four games behind the Lions. They also still have a lot of questions about whether or not Love is the future of their franchise. Green Bay hosts the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
The Bears won an ugly game on Thursday Night Football against the Carolina Panthers 16-13. The only touchdown the Bears gave up in the game came on a first quarter punt return. Chicago looks to get Justin Fields back from a thumb injury this week when the Bears take on the first-place Lions.
