Around the AFC West: Week 12

The honeymoon is over for Antonio Pierce with the Las Vegas Raiders. They lost their second straight game on Sunday this time falling 31-17 to the Kansas City Chiefs. Aidan O’Connell was pretty good in this one throwing for 248 yards and touchdown. Josh Jacobs added 110 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries, but it was not enough as the Raiders’ defense had no answers for the Chiefs’ offense. Patrick Mahomes threw for 298 yards and two touchdowns. Rashee Rice had eight catches for 107 yards and is emerging as the number one target in Kansas City. Isiah Pacheco added two rushing touchdowns in the blowout victory. The Chiefs play the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football this week while the Raiders have their bye.

It was a fifth straight win for the hottest team in the league the Denver Broncos. Denver’s defense has really turned it around after giving up 70 to the Miami Dolphins. They sacked PJ Walker four times and only allowed 190 yards passing on the afternoon. On offense, Russell Wilson accounted for two touchdowns, one passing and one rushing, in the win. Wilson spread the ball around finding seven different pass catchers on his 13 completions. The Broncos travel to Houston to take on the Texans this week.

Brandon Staley’s seat is on fire after the Los Angeles Chargers lost 20-10 to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football. Keenan Allen continued his career resurgence with 14 catches for 106 yards. There is not a lot going right for the Chargers this year, but Justin Herbert knows he has a good thing with Allen. Herber threw for 217 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the loss. The Chargers travel to New England to take on the Patriots in week 13.
