Around the AFC South: Week 16
The Jacksonville Jaguars lost their fourth straight game 30-12 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Trevor Lawrence got hurt, again, in the loss but not before he threw for 211 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Evan Engram led the pass catchers with 10 catches for 95 yards. Jacksonville only managed 37 yards rushing in the loss. The Jaguars play the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
It was a tough Sunday for the Indianapolis Colts when they lost 29-10 to the Atlanta Falcons. The Colts got up early when Jonathan Taylor scored a touchdown, but it was all downhill from there. Taylor handled 18 carries in his return from a thumb injury but could only manage 43 yards on those carries. Gardner Minshew was sacked six times in the loss and did not throw a touchdown. The Colts take on the LAs Vegas Raiders in week 17.
Things were not any better for the Houston Texans. They played without C.J. Stroud for the second straight week and lost to the Cleveland Browns 36-22. Case Keenum started the game but gave way to Davis Mills who ended up throwing two touchdowns. The biggest problem for the Texans on the day was they had no answer for Amari Cooper who had 11 catches for 265 yards and two touchdowns. The Texans host the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
Speaking of the Titans, they lost 20-17 to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Ryan Tannehill stepped back in for the injured Will Levis and was not very good. The Titans got the ball back with 57 seconds left down by three. Tannehill took two sacks on the ensuing drive and the Titans ran out of time. That is inexcusable from a veteran quarterback. Derrick Henry bounced back from his terrible week 16 performance with 19 carries for 88 yards and a touchdown. The Titans travel to Houston to take on the Texans in week 17.
