Around the AFC North: Week 15

The Baltimore Ravens made it four straight wins on Sunday Night Football when they knocked off the Jacksonville Jaguars 23-7. Lamar Jackson threw for 171 yards and a touchdown and ran for 97 yards. Keaton Mitchell was having a great night with 73 yards on nine carries before suffering a knee injury that ended his season. Baltimore moved to 11-3 and stays in the driver’s seat for the number one seed in the AFC. The Ravens travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers on Christmas night.

Joe Flacco won his second straight start when the Cleveland Browns knocked off the Chicago Bears 20-17. Flacco threw for 374 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions in the win. Amari Cooper led the Cleveland receivers with 4 catches for 109 yards. Tight end David Njoku had a monster day with 10 catches for 104 yards. The Browns almost lost the game in regulation but Darnell Mooney was not able to hold on to the Hail Mary attempt that fell right into his lap. The Browns travel to Houston to take on the Texans in week 16.

Jake Browning did it again for the Cincinnati Bengals in week 15. He led the team on a six-play 47-yard drive that set up the game-winning field goal to give the Bengals a 27-24 overtime win over the Minnesota Vikings. Browning has started three games since Joe Burrow was lost for the season and Cincinnati is 3-0 in those games. Tee Higgins had one of his better games of the season catching four passes for 61 yards and two touchdowns. The Bengals’ defense had a nice day at the office with three sacks and two interceptions. The Bengals travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers next Saturday.

Speaking of the Pittsburgh Steelers, they got blown out 30-13 for their third straight loss. Mitch Trubisky started the game for the Steelers but was replaced late by Mason Rudolph. Nothing was working for the Pittsburgh offense in this one. They only rushed for 74 yards and Trubisky threw two interceptions. The Steelers face the Bengals in what pretty much amounts to an elimination game next week.
