Around the AFC East: Week 2

The Buffalo Bills got their first win of the season 38-10 over the Las Vegas Raiders. Josh Allen bounced back from his disappointing week one performance to throw for 274 yards and three touchdowns. Buffalo added 183 yards on the ground with James Cook having a game-high 123 yards rushing. The Bills defense held the Raiders to just 55 yards rushing on the day. Josh Jacobs went for -2 yards on nine carries. The Bills travel to Washington to take on the Commanders in week three.

On Sunday night football, the Miami Dolphins defeated the New England Patriots 24-17. It was the second straight one-score loss for Bill Belichick’s team. Tua Tagovailoa threw for 249 yards and a touchdown in the win and is now the betting favorite to win the NFL MVP. He might just do it if he can stay healthy. Raheem Mostert rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns. For the Patriots, Mac Jones threw for 231 yards with a touchdown and an interception. The Miami defense held New England to just 88 yards rushing on 25 attempts. The Dolphins take on the Broncos at home next week while the Patriots travel to the New York Jets.

Speaking of the New York Jets, they were beaten handily by the Dallas Cowboys. The first start of the year for Zach Wilson was a disaster as he threw three interceptions and was just 12 of 27 for 170 yards. The Jets also were not able to get anything going on the ground. Breece Hall was held to nine yards on four carries and Dalvin Cook gained just seven yards on four carries. Aaron Rodgers said there is a chance he could play again this year. That cannot come soon enough for the Jets who play the Patriots at home next week.
