Around the AFC East: Week 12

Week 12 in the AFC East kicked off on Black Friday when the Miami Dolphins beat the New York Jets 34-13. The switch from Zach Wilson to Tim Boyle did not really pay off for the Jets here. Boyle was intercepted twice in the game with one being returned for a touchdown right before halftime. He was also sacked seven times on the day. Tua Tagovailoa threw for 243 yards and a touchdown but did throw two interceptions one of which was also returned for a touchdown. Raheem Mostert had a big day rushing for 94 yards and finding the end zone twice. The Dolphins travel to Washington to take on the Commanders in week 13 while the Jets host the Atlanta Falcons.

The Buffalo Bills suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon. Buffalo went ahead 31-28 with just 1:52 remaining in the game when Josh Allen found Gabe Davis in the end zone from seven yards out. The 1:52 proved to be too much time as Jake Elliott hit a 59-yard field goal in the rain to tie the game. The Bills would win the toss in overtime but were only able to manage a field goal on the first possession of overtime. The Eagles answered with a touchdown drive that ended with Jalen Hurts scoring on a 12-yard run. Josh Allen was really good in the loss throwing for 339 yards and two touchdowns and rushing for 81 yards and another two touchdowns. The Bills have their bye in week 13.

It was a fourth straight loss for the New England Patriots when they fell 10-7 to the New York Giants. The Patriots once again benched Mac Jones in favor of Bailey Zappe after Jones threw two interceptions. Zappe was not any better throwing an interception of his own. The only bright spot of the day for the Patriots offense was Rhamondre Stevenson who rushed 21 times for 98 yards and a touchdown. The New England defense did its part sacking Tommy DeVito six times but it was not enough. The Patriots host the Los Angeles Chargers in week 13.
