3 things for Browns fans to watch for against the Packers Saturday
While Cleveland Browns fans were occupied with the excitement of a potential new stadium in a Cleveland suburb. The first preseason game is scheduled for Saturday August 10th ,2024, at 4:25 pm. The Browns will be hosting the Green Bay Packers and there are 3 things for Cleveland Browns fans to watch for in the game.
The first thing to watch is for our first three 2024 NFL draft picks to get some game reps. Defensive tackle Michael Hall has been impressive in training camp and fans want to see that translate to live NFL game action. Guard Zak Zinter is considered the future of the interior of the Cleveland Browns offensive line. He probably won’t get to play much during the 2024 season. NFL preseason game reps are an excellent opportunity for his development. Wide receiver Jamari Thrash was drafted in the 5th round and needs to make an impression to crack into an already crowded wide receiver room. It will also be interesting to see the new offense.
The second thing for Browns fans to watch for on Saturday is the new look offense. New offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey will add new wrinkles and looks to showcase the talent on this team. Although, I wouldn’t expect too much of that in the preseason. I don’t think they want to give their 2024 opponents film to study. But we can notice a difference, nonetheless. Special teams will also have to be changed in 2024, for not only the Browns but the NFL.
The third and final thing for Cleveland Browns fans to watch on Saturday against the Green Bay Packers is the new kickoff rule. I did have the opportunity to see it in action during last week’s Hall of Fame Game. It looks different. And it serves its purpose to generate more kickoff returns instead of touch backs.
Normally with NFL Preseason games fans are just glad to see football and it generates excitement and optimism. Some of the excitement and optimism is warranted for certain teams. And for the 2024 Cleveland Browns the fans can’t wait for games to start counting.
