2025 NFL Draft: Conference Championship Week Risers
The NFL Draft is still in the distant future, but the true difference-maker in a player’s draft stock is determined by their on-field performance during the regular season. “But how can I track all the highlights throughout college football each week?”, you may ask. If that is you, you came to the right place!
Each week during the college football season, I will bring to you an NFL Draft Stock Report, sharing the most significant draft information gathered from the previous week’s college football action. As the season goes on, we will focus in on players whose stock is continuously soaring and making a case to be an early to mid-round selection.
As always, be sure to share your thoughts on these prospects in the comment section below, but without further adieu, here are the most notable performances affecting the 2025 NFL Draft landscape from this past week’s action.
Tez Johnson | WR | Oregon
Johnson’s stat lines throughout the season were somewhat inconsistent, yet the attention he received from opposing defenses made a weekly impact. When Dillon Gabriel needed to make a clutch throw, Johnson was typically his first read, and the story was no different in the Big Ten Championship Game. Johnson racked up 11 catches for 181 yards and 1 touchdown, making this game his most productive of the 2024 campaign. At 5’10”, 165 pounds, Johnson will be knocked for his lack of size, which will also bring up concerns about durability. However, he has been one of the most dependable players in college football this season, displaying outstanding quickness in and out of cuts and creating separation late in the route. He has played himself into Day 2 consideration.
Tre Stewart | RB | Jacksonville State
Stewart is an intriguing small-school prospect who has quietly had one of the best seasons in all the FBS. In the Gamecocks’ big win against Western Kentucky in the Conference USA Championship Game, Stewart went bonkers as both a runner and receiver, accumulating 201 rushing yards on 27 carries and 54 yards on 3 receptions. Stewart displayed his vision and explosiveness after the catch on a key 50-yard reception, and his explosiveness through the hole as a runner was evident all game long. At 5’10”, 192 pounds, Stewart does not possess the size to handle a three-down role in the NFL, but he will certainly be an intriguing change-of-pace option who will likely be selected in the middle rounds of the draft.
Mykel Williams | EDGE | Georgia
Williams has not been at 100% health this season, but he has brought his best against Texas both times Georgia has played them. Williams has only recorded 5 sacks this season, but 4 of those have come against Texas. While I would still like to see more consistency from Williams from down to down, his explosiveness as an EDGE rusher is undeniable when you turn on the tape. He has the size, athleticism, and instincts of a premier NFL pass rusher, but health and production are two areas in which scouts would like to have seen more. He is likely to be selected in the top 10 picks of the draft, but he is very much a boom or bust prospect.
