  13. Jacksonville Jaguars – Eliminated
  14. Tennessee Titans – Eliminated
  15. New England Patriots – Eliminated
  16. Las Vegas Raiders – Eliminated

The field in the AFC is all but set. It is an uphill battle for the three teams in the hunt to make a run for the final wild card spot. They will need to win out and get some help. The team that seems most likely to do this is the Cincinnati Bengals but that is still a fight.

Staying in the AFC North, the Pittsburgh Steelers currently lead the division but will face the Baltimore Ravens in a showdown this week. Those two teams can be tied at the top if Baltimore were to win this game. If the Steelers defeat the Ravens for the second time, they will clinch the division title.

The other battle will be for the No. 1 seed. The Kansas City Chiefs currently hold a two-game lead on the Buffalo Bills but the race is not over. The Chiefs will need to continue to win to be able to close it out in the coming weeks.

NFC

  1. Detroit Lions – 1st in NFC North
  2. Philadelphia Eagles – 1st in NFC East
  3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 1st in NFC South
  4. Los Angeles Rams – 1st in NFC West
  5. Minnesota Vikings – Wild Card 1
  6. Green Bay Packers Wild Card 2
  7. Washington Commanders – Wild Card 3
  8. Seattle Seahawks – Bubble
  9. Arizona Cardinals – Bubble
  10. Atlanta Falcons – Bubble
  11. San Francisco 49ers – Bubble
  12. Dallas Cowboys – Bubble
  13. New Orleans Saints – Bubble
  14. Chicago Bears – Eliminated
  15. Carolina Panthers – Eliminated
  16. New York Giants – Eliminated

The NFC playoff picture is much more interesting after Week 15. It begins with the battle for the top seed as the Philadelphia Eagles inched close with the Detroit Lions losing on Sunday. The Lions currently hold the tiebreaker in conference record but the schedule is favorable for the Eagles down the stretch. Philadelphia has a great chance to win out and finish 15-2, which would land them the top seed in the NFC with a Lions loss at any point.

The other race is for the seventh Wild Card spot. The Washington Commanders survived on Sunday and improved to 9-5, which maintains a one-game lead over the likes of the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams. One of these teams will have to win the division. Washington holds a tiebreaker over the teams below them so the Commanders are in a good position if they can get to 10 victories.

The battle for the NFC West will be important because it can be the difference between the fourth seed and out of the postseason all together. Also, the Atlanta Falcons control their own destiny, including a matchup with Washington coming up in Week 17.

There is plenty of action remaining this season and teams will battle for position with three games left in the season.
