Cavs Win Nailbiter Over Bucks, 114-113

On Saturday the 6-0 Cleveland Cavaliers traveled to Milwaukee Wisconsin to play the 1-4 Milwaukee Bucks. The Cavaliers are the only undefeated team in the NBA Eastern Conference. The previous night they defeated the Orlando Magic 120-109. The team will be without two key reserve players for this game.  Forward Caris LeVert and forward Jaylon Tyson were both ruled out for this game. LeVert has right knee soreness and Tyson was reported to having a hip strain. With Max Strus already being out for the Cavaliers as well, can the team continue their win streak to start their 2024 / 2025 season?

After having Milwaukee start the game on a 9-0 run over the Cavaliers, Cleveland was able to recover enough to only trail by one point at halftime 62-61. The pace of the game slowed down a bit in second half, but that didn’t mean that the game wasn’t exciting. During the game there was 11 lead changes and 7 tie scores. The final field goal of the game was made by Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell, he sank a 20-foot jump shot to give the Cavaliers the lead for good 114-113 with .03 seconds left in the game. Milwaukee did try to make a shot on the inbound pass, but it was missed by Milwaukee’s Damian Lillard. The Cleveland Cavaliers are now 7-0 to start their season.

Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell was the leading scorer for Cleveland with 30 points in 35 minutes. Cleveland center Jarett Allen had another double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.  Up next for the Cavaliers is a rematch with the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday. This time Cleveland will be the home team and the game will be played at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. Can 8-0 be possible for this Cavaliers team? When a team is buying in and believing like the Cavaliers are right now, anything is possible.
