Cavs Top the Wizards, 115-105

On Friday December 13th the 21-4 Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the 3-19 Washington Wizards at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in downtown Cleveland Ohio. The Cavaliers last game was a 122-113 loss last Sunday night against the Miami Heat in Miami. The Wizards are coming off a 140-112 loss at home to the Memphis Grizzlies. Max Strus was expected to play in this game for the Cavaliers, but he didn’t play. Also, Evan Mobley sat out this game for the Cavaliers to rest his ankle. Out for the Wizards was Corey Kispert, Kyle Kuzma, and Sadiq Bey. The Cavaliers were trying to get back on the winning track and they were expected to win this game.

The game opened as a closer than expected contest. After the first quarter the game was tied 25-25. In the second quarter the Cavaliers outscored the Wizards 32-29. And at halftime the Cavaliers led by a score of 57-54. The Cavaliers outscored their opponent in the third quarter 30-26 and led 87-80. The fourth quarter of the game was too close for comfort, until the last four minutes. Darius Garland hit a three-point shot to give the Cavaliers a 10-point lead. And the Cavaliers pulled away to win the game 115-105.

The leading scorer for the Cavaliers was Darius Garland with 24 points in 33 minutes. Jarrett Allen had a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds in 33 minutes of play. Up next for the 22-4 Cavaliers is traveling to Brooklyn to play the 10-14-Nets on Monday December 16th at 7:30 pm eastern time at the Barclays Center. The Cavaliers are trying to extend a new winning streak. And next Monday night in Brooklyn New York the Cavaliers will be ready to win. And they will be expected to win. But will they win? We must watch and see for ourselves.
