Cavs Top the Lakers in LA, 122-110
On Tuesday December 31st, at 9 pm eastern time, the 28-4 Cleveland Cavaliers traveled to Los Angeles California to play the 18-13 Los Angeles Lakers at the Crypto.com Arena. The Cavaliers previous game was a 113-95 win against the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco California on the previous night. The Lakers last game was a 132-122 win over the Sacramento Kings at home last Saturday night. Out for the Cavaliers were Isaac Okoro and Emoni Bates. The Lakers were without Jalen Hood-Schifino, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Christian Wood for the game. This was the third game of a four-game west coast trip; the Cavaliers already won the first two. And they were trying to win the third game of this trip and their 29th game of the season.
It was a high scoring first quarter for both teams, but the Cavaliers led after one quarter of play 34-30. The pace of the game continued in the next quarter. The Cavaliers outscored the Lakers 24-23 in the second quarter and the Cavaliers had a 58-53 lead at halftime. In the third quarter the Cavaliers started to pull away from the Lakers. And after 3 quarters of play, the Cavaliers led the Lakes 87-78. The Cavaliers continued to pull away from the Lakers in the fourth and final quarter. And they went on to win their 29th game of the season 122-110.
The leading scorer for the Cavaliers was Jarrett Allen with 27 points, he also had a double-double with 14 rebounds. Darius Garland also had a monstrous double-double game with 14 points and 14 assists in 32 minutes of play. The Cavaliers had five players with 10 or more points and 3 of those players had 20 or more points. Again, this win for the Cavaliers was an overall team effort. Up next for the 29-4 Cleveland Cavaliers is a trip to Dallas Texas to play the 20-13 Mavericks on Friday January 3rd at 8:30 pm eastern time, at the American Airlines Center. On this west coast trip, the Cavaliers have gone 3-0, can they sweep and go 4-0 on the trip? All indications are yes and Cavs fans will “Let Em Know”.
