Cavs lose to the 76ers, 132-129

On Friday January 24th at 7 pm eastern time, the 36-7 Cleveland Cavaliers traveled to the city of brotherly love to play the 15-27 Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. The Cavaliers last game was a 109-108 road loss to the Houston Rockets last Wednesday. The 76ers last game was a 144-109 loss on the road to the Denver Nuggets last Tuesday. Out for the Cavaliers was Evan Mobley and Isaac Okoro, Caris LeVert was listed as questionable.  LeVert did not play in the game. Out for the 76ers was Joel Embiid, Andre Drummond, Kyle Lowry, Caleb Martin, and KJ Martin. The Cavaliers were looking to bounce back after the close road loss to the Rockets last Wednesday.

In the opening quarter the Cavaliers and the 76ers played a close contest. But after one quarter of play the Cavaliers trailed the 76ers by a score of 39-33. In the second quarter, the Cavaliers outscored the 76ers 34-25 and led at halftime by a score of 67-64. In the third quarter, the 76ers came back and led the Cavaliers after three quarters of play 98-96. In the fourth and final quarter, the 76ers kept up their lead to defeat the Cavaliers 132-129.

The Cavalier’s leading scorer was Donnovan Mitchell with 37 points in 33 minutes. Right behind him was Ty Jerome with 33 points in 33 minutes of play. Up next for the 36-8 Cleveland Cavaliers is hosting the 29-14 Houston Rockets on Saturday January 25th at 7:30 pm eastern time, at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. Missing Evan Mobley, Isaac Okoro, and Caris LeVert has hurt this team in the last two games. Cavs fans hope they will be back soon. And the rest of the Cleveland Cavaliers are hoping for that as well.
