Cavs Grind Out Win Over the Raptors, 122-108
On Sunday November 24th the 16-1 Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the 4-12 Toronto Raptors at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in downtown Cleveland Ohio. The Cavaliers last game was an impressive 128-100 win last Wednesday night against the New Orleans Pelicans. Toronto’s last game was a 110-105 victory last Thursday over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The last time these two teams played each other was the season opener in Toronto. The Cavaliers won that game 136-106. Toronto was much healthier for this game than the opener. Toronto’s RJ Barrett played in this game and wasn’t available for the season opener due to injury. In Barret’s last two games he was red hot with a combined 70 points. In this game could he make a similar impact?
The Cavaliers opened the game with a 10-point first quarter lead. This Raptors team would try to hang tough, but the Cavaliers led at the end of the first quarter 38-22. The second quarter the Raptors opened with a 15-7 run. They scratched and clawed to within one possession of tying the Cavaliers. And by halftime the Cavaliers led by a score of 65-55. In the third quarter the Cavaliers tried to maintain their double-digit lead. And at the end of the third quarter, they led 96-90. The Cavaliers pulled away in the fourth quarter with a 14-3 run at the start. The Cavaliers were able to earn their 17th win of the season by a final score of 122-108.
Toronto’s RJ Barrett did have 16 points in 33 minutes. For the Cavaliers Ty Jerome continues to impress with 26 points in 28 minutes in this game. The Cavaliers again had 6 players with double digit scoring. It was another impressive team win. Up next for this team is hosting the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday November 27th at 7pm EST, at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. This Cleveland Cavaliers team is undefeated at home for the season. And they want to keep that going through Thanksgiving.
