Cavs Dominate the Timberwolves, 128-107

On Monday February 10th at 7pm eastern time, the 42-10 Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the 30-23 Minnesota Timberwolves at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in downtown Cleveland Ohio. The Cavaliers last game was a 134-124 win on the road against the Washington Wizards last Friday. The Timberwolves last game was a 114-98 win at home against the Portland Trailblazers last Saturday. Out for the Cavaliers was Dean Wade and Isaac Okoro. The Timberwolves were without Donte DiVincenzo and Julius Randle for the game. The new look Cleveland Cavaliers with De’Andre Hunter was expected to debut in this game, the hope was that the debut would lead to a win.

In the first quarter the Cavaliers purely dominated the Timberwolves by outscoring them 30-12 to start the game. In the second quarter the trend continued for the Cavaliers, and they led at halftime 66-44. In the third quarter the Timberwolves tried to comeback, but back-to-back three-point shots to finish the quarter put the Cavaliers up at the end of three quarters of play 104-78. In the fourth and final quarter, the Cavaliers coasted while getting bench players playing time. The Cleveland Cavaliers won their 43rd game of the season 128-107.

The Cavaliers’ leading scorer was Evan Mobley with 28 points in 32 minutes. He also earned a double-double with 10 rebounds for the night. De’Andre Hunter in his Cavaliers debut scored 12 points in 23 minutes. Up next for the 43-10 Cleveland Cavaliers is a trip to Toronto Canada to play the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday February 12th at 7:30 pm eastern time, at the Scotiabank Arena. This will be the final game before the All-Star Break. This Cavaliers team has earned a well-deserved rest for the break. But before they can do that, they have one more game to play and for the first time in franchise history this team could go 44-10 after 54 games into a season. Cavs fans hope for history to be made, and they want it to continue all the way to the NBA Finals in June.
