Cavs Defeat Magic 120-109, move record to 6-0

On Friday the Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the Orlando Magic at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. This is a rematch from the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs. This was anticipated to be an exciting game with the Cleveland Cavaliers being the only undefeated team in the NBA Eastern Conference. The Orlando Magic went into the game with a 3-3 record and were hoping to be the Cavaliers first loss this season. Unfortunately for them, that is not what happened.

The Cavaliers outscored the Magic in the 1st quarter 34-16 to set the tone for the game. The Cavaliers continued to coast through the 2nd quarter and went into halftime with 63-44 lead. In the second half Orlando did fight their way back into the game, they outscored the Cavaliers in the 3rd quarter 34-32. The Orlando Magic did have a 31-point 4th quarter, but the Cavaliers held up with 25 points of their own. This made the final score Cleveland Cavaliers 120- Orlando Magic 109. Another impressive team win for the Cleveland Cavaliers to extend their winning streak to 6 games. The last time they started the season this hot was in 2016 when they were defending their NBA Championship and still had Lebron James.

Cavaliers guard Darius Garland led the team in scoring with 25 points in 29 game minutes. Forward Evan Mobley had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds in 30 minutes of play. Up next for this Cavaliers team is to head to Milwaukee on Saturday night at 7 pm EST to play the 1-4 Milwaukee Bucks. Don’t let early records in an NBA season fool you. Milwaukee has good players and can beat any team in the NBA. They are an NBA team that is off to a slow start to their season. Let’s hope the Cavaliers can slow it down some more.
