Cavs Crushed by Magic, 121-83, But Still Lead Series 2-1
Last Thursday night in Orlando Florida the Cleveland Cavaliers took on the Orlando Magic in game 3 of their opening round best of seven playoff series. The Magic had their backs against the wall and face a 0-2 deficit to the Cavaliers. The first two games of this series were a physical test for the home court advantaged Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs passed the first two tests with flying colors. The next question is how they will respond to the same physical test on the road.
The Orlando Magic is a good, young, and hungry NBA playoff team that cannot and should not be taken lightly. And the Magic proved that to be true. They stormed the Cavs by taking a 61-45 halftime lead. And then went on to end the 3rd quarter with 96-61 lead over the Cavs. The Orlando Magic absolutely dominated the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs raised the white flag early in the fourth quarter by sitting most of the starters. Caris LeVert led the Cavs in scoring with a mediocre 15 points. That stat was even more telling then the final score of 121-83 in favor of the Orlando Magic. For the Cleveland Cavaliers it is now gut check time for the team and the coach.
Game 4 is scheduled for Saturday April 27th at 1 pm in Orlando. The Cleveland Cavaliers have not won a playoff series without LeBron James since 1993 when they defeated the New Jersey Nets. Could the Cavs end that notorious streak in this series with the Magic? For that to happen the Cavs will have to be ready for Game 4 on Saturday. The Cavs should be motivated after being embarrassed by this loss. If that isn’t motivation for them. Then I don’t know what would be!
