Most Underrated Teams In The NFL After Week 2

We have just completed the second big Sunday slate of the NFL.

Coming into the season, there are public perceptions about each team and sometimes, they can be wrong.

Below, check out some of the most underrated teams after two weeks of action.

Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings are putting the league on notice early on. Minnesota came into the season with Sam Darnold as the full-time starter with J.J. McCarthy suffering a season-ending knee injury. They opened with a blowout victory against a bad New York Giants team but did not let down during the home opener in Minnesota. The Vikings jumped out to an early lead against the San Francisco 49ers and finished off the victory against the reigning NFC champions. Justin Jefferson suffered a quad injury during the win, where he scored a 97-yard touchdown. At full strength, this is an exciting team. Kevin O’Connell is showing he is one of the league’s underrated coaches and has Darnold and this offense running smoothly.

New Orleans Saints

Did anyone expect Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints to average 45 points through two games? Maybe Week 1 was expected against the Carolina Panthers, who are the worst team in the league by a wide margin. Alvin Kamara and the Saints did not slow down going to Dallas to take on a team that blitzed Cleveland in the opener. The Saints scored 35 points in the first half and Kamara finished with four total touchdowns. Are the Saints for real? Who knows but they came into the season as an underrated team and have proven to be more than competent.

Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals have been seen as an afterthought this season. That is because Kyler Murray has not played in two years and it is a “what have you done for me lately” league. Through two weeks, the Cardinals have impressed with Murray under center. The Cardinals held a 17-0 lead in Buffalo before blowing a lead in Week 1. Marvin Harrison Jr. arrived in Week 2 in a big way with four catches for 130 yards and two touchdowns as the team picked up its first win with a blowout of the Los Angeles Rams. The Cardinals have shown explosive plays offensively with their starting quarterback under center.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs came into the season with hopes of winning the NFC South and returning to the postseason. They were not underrated in terms of making the playoffs but no one expected the team to be clicking like this through two weeks. In Week 1, Baker Mayfield threw four touchdowns as the offense looked unstoppable against the Washington Commanders. On Sunday, the Bucs asserted dominance defensively and allowed just 16 points to the Detroit Lions on the road. The Bucs are 2-0 and making plenty of noise early on.
