Maple Leafs Sign Max Domi to a 4-year Deal

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed F Max Domi to a 4 year, $15M contract, with an AAV of $3.75M.

In his first season with his hometown club, everyone seemed to love him. He’s got the family history with the Leafs, and he’s a player who Leafs fans notoriously love playing in the Blue and White.

Domi is a player who lacks defensive instincts, but is an excellent playmaker and a versatile forward who can slot in up and down the lineup. He spent time last season on the wing of Austin Matthews or John Tavares, even handling the 3C role at times. Domi always works hard and is a player who the Leafs need come playoff time. No matter where you slot him in the lineup. Domi will always work hard, fight for pucks, and try to make plays to the open man. A hockey player’s hockey player.

Domi played in 80 regular season games for the Leafs, contributing 9 goals, 38 assists, good for 47 points. He also logged 118 penalty minutes, showing he isn’t afraid to defend his teammates, or work hard to help the squad.

This deal gives Domi the term he has been longing for, as well as giving the Leafs a guy who’s paid well that they can rely on. The first move of their true offseason, they start off on the right track. We will see what happens in the coming weeks, on how they will try to build their 2024-25 roster.
