Los Angeles Dodgers Bash Three Bombs in 8-0 Win Over New York Mets

The New York Mets are still alive in the National League Championship, but another huge shutout loss can’t feel good.

The visiting Los Angeles Dodgers won Game 3 by an 8-0 margin after winning the series opener 9-0.

The Mets could tie up the NLCS tonight, but right now the Dodgers look like the dominant team.

MEET (AND BEAT) THE METS

Will Smith put LA on the board with an infield single in the second inning off Mets starter Luis Severino.

Tommy Edman’s sacrifice fly increased the Dodgers’ lead to 2-0.

Enrique Hernandez hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning to double the Dodgers’ lead.

The long balls kept coming for LA, as Shohei Otani hit a three-run bomb in eighth. Max Muncy added a solo shot in the ninth.

NO HOPE FOR THE HOME TEAM

Meanwhile, the Mets could not get anything going on offense against Walker Buehler and four Dodgers relief pitchers.

New York hitters scratched out four singles and struck out 13 times.

Game 4 is set for tonight at 8:08 on Fox Sports 1. Yoshinobu Yamamato, who dominated the Mets in Game 1, will start for the Dodgers against Jose Quintana.

Cleveland will host the New York Yankees to start today’s baseball action at 5:08 p.m. on TBS.

Trailing 2-0 in the series, the Guardians will send Matthew Boyd to the mound against the Yankees’ Clarke Schmidt.
