Logan Paul vs. Jake Paul: A ‘Tickle Fight’ For The Ages

The Paul brothers are two of the biggest names in pop-culture right now, there’s no question about it. The Youtubers-turned-Athletes have become major draws in the wrestling and boxing world, and have turned combat-sports completely on it’s head. It’s a WILD turn of events that no one was expecting, and it’s something that has spawned a trend of other content creators fighting on smaller cards.

But NOW, after all of the Wrestlemanias and the success of the Paul/Tyson fight…..it looks like the brothers may be going all in on one EPIC main event. It looks like the Paul’s are (reportedly) on course to face each other in the ring, for the first time in history.

This is poised to be a major showdown, that will surely sell-out whatever venue it’s held in. For YEARS, people on social media have been making jokes and comments, talking about when these two would finally face off. Whenever one of them asked “who should I fight next,” they were always met with a SLEW of responses talking about a ‘brotherly clash.’

If this fight really happens, then it will be sold as the “main event to end all main events.” But for me, and many other sports fans out there…..this will just end up being another ‘Paul Fight.’ This will just end up being one of those tilts that’s great on paper, but not great when put into practice. If anything……you can say it’ll be less of a brawl, and more of a ‘tickle fight.’ It’ll be less of a main event, and more of a ‘glorified sparring session.’

I can’t see any reason not to think that. This event just sounds like a ‘snore-fest’ right off the bat. But, after seeing the success that Paul/Tyson had back in November……I can’t see why a Paul v. Paul card wouldn’t be a BIG SUCCESS. I mean COME ON: 28-year old Jake Paul basically danced around a 58-year old man for eight rounds, and over 65 million people STILL tuned in to watch it. Not only that; they also had roughly 80,000 people in AT&T Stadium watching their every move.

Simply put; if they could do numbers like THOSE with that kind of fight heading the card, then WHO KNOWS what they’ll do with two capable fighters in the ring?

Now, for the record; does this mean that I will not watch this fight? Absolutely not! Like every other human being who scoffs at the thought of a ‘Paul Fight,’ I’m still going to find a way to take it in. I’m still going to sneak a peek on the 27th, with the hope of seeing something special. It’s just how it works in the “fight game.”

BUT, I will say that if the undercard is not as good as Paul/Tyson’s…….I may not even bother with it. If I don’t get another chapter in the Katie Taylor/Amanda Serrano feud, then I might just cancel my HBO Max subscription all together. Why? Well because Taylor/Serrano was, WITHOUT QUESTION, the fight of the night for Paul/Tyson. That was something to remember, and should’ve been the final fight I watched that night.

If anything, if we’re going to get a Paul v Paul fight….I just hope the fights before it are worthwhile. But as always….what do I know? I’m just a guy from the Midwest, with a beer and a laptop, trying to make sense of this world.
