Liv Morgan: 2024 Female Wrestler of the Year

Liv Morgan embarked on her Revenge Tour in 2024, and it resulted in more success than even she could have imagined.

Morgan is the current World women’s champion and the 2024 Female Wrestler of the Year.

Morgan gained her revenge against Rhea Ripley, who sidelined Morgan for the latter half of 2023 with a shoulder injury.

Morgan returned the favor in April, injuring Ripley’s arm and causing her to vacate the World women’s title.

Liv won her second championship from Becky Lynch with the “accidental” help of Dominik Mysterio.

Dirty Dom was Ripley’s love interest at the time, and Morgan jumped at the chance to steal him, too.

That part of the plan came together at SummerSlam, as Dom interfered “on purpose” to help Morgan retain her title.

One night later, Morgan replaced Ripley in the Judgment Day faction. Liv also upset Nia Jax to win the Crown Jewel title in Saudi Arabia.

Even if Ripley wins the World women’s title back next Monday in the Last Woman Standing match on Netflix, there’s no denying that 2024 belonged to Liv Morgan.

RUNNER-UP: “TIMELESS” TONI STORM

Toni Storm’s dominant run as AEW women’s champion was punctuated by the bizarre roller-coaster ride that was going on inside her head.

Most of Toni’s story was set up in the latter half of 2023. She lost her mind after losing the AEW World women’s title to Hikaru Shida.

She reinvented herself as “Timeless” Toni Storm, with a persona that harkened back to the Golden Age of Hollywood.

Storm recaptured the title and defended it in 2024 against Riho, Deonna Purrazzo, Thunder Rosa, and Mina Shirawaka.

Meanwhile, Mariah May appeared as her understudy, May copied Storm’s previous rock-chick persona, stabbed her mentor in the back, and took her place as AEW women’s title.

Storm wrestled around the world before returning to AEW. Now, she seems to have forgotten the previous two years of her life and thinks she’s starting to wrestle in AEW for the first time.
