AEW fans who have been waiting for Kenny Omega to return will have to keep waiting.

But New Japan Pro Wrestling fans only need to wait until Jan. 5.

Omega, the former AEW World champion, will wrestle Gabe Kidd at Wrestle Dynasty.

Every year, New Japan holds its biggest show of the year, Wrestle Kingdom, on Jan. 4. Like WrestleMania is now a two-day event, New Japan added the Wrestle Dynasty event to the calendar.

Omega has been out of action since December 2023 due to complications from diverticulitis.

“The Best Bout Machine” has a storied history in New Japan. He was the leader of The Bullet Club and had trilogy of all-time great matches with Kazuchika Okada.

WRESTLE DYNASTY LINEUP

Wrestle Dynasty will differ from Wrestle Kingdom by featuring talent from AEW and other global promotions.

Ricochet will take on Zack Sabre Jr., New Japan’s current World champion. Jack Perry will battle Yota Tsuji

AEW will also be represented in the International Women’s Cup four-way, which will also feature talent from Stardom, CMLL, and Ring Of Honor.

WHAT ABOUT WRESTLE KINGDOM?

Zack Sabre Jr. won the G-1 Climax tournament, which usually means that he would get a title shot at Wrestle Kingdom. But he got the title shot early and won the belt from Tetsuya Naito.

Sabre will defend the belt in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom against Shota Umino.

Also, The Great O-Khan & Aaron Henare will defend the World tag team title against the winners of the Real World Tag League tournament, which is taking place at several live events this month.
