Jordan Love Has Overcome More Adversity Off The Field

All NFL fans have seen what Jordan Love has brought to the Green Bay Packers. He has become a superstar quarterback after sitting quietly and learning from the great Aaron Rodgers over three seasons prior to 2023. He finished second in the league in touchdown passes with 32 and helped lead the Packers to the playoffs in year one.

What most NFL fans do not know is Love has had to overcome so much outside of football. This past weekend, Love appeared on The Pivot to chat about everything from the 2023 season and more about his own story. During the interview, it is revealed that Love lost his father when he was 14. This is what the former first-round pick had to stay about that difficult time:

Yeah, that was a difficult time. Obviously, just losing my father, that was tough. Being 14 years old. You know, the man I looked up to, the man who raised me. Losing a parent. It was very tough for me and my family. A very hard situation…That year I was thinking about quitting football…Stuff wasn’t really going my way, and I was like ‘I might have to give it up.’…He was the one that was always out front throwing the football with me…I ended up sticking it out that year and became the starting quarterback and was able to fight through that adversity.”

Hearing this story has to make more fans become even bigger fans of Love. Not only did this painful event in his young life push him to overcome the trials of life, but it also pushed him to become great at football. So great that the Green Bay Packers selected him in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He would go onto learn from Aaron Rodgers for three seasons as a backup. Then, when he got his chance, he proved how elite of an NFL quarterback he really is.
