Jon Moxley Challenges Darby Allin for AEW Title Shot at Grand Slam
Days after trying to suffocate Bryan Danielson with a plastic bag, Jon Moxley laid out his plan to take Danielson’s AEW World title.
Moxley finally got his one-on-one audience with Darby Allin last night on Dynamite and issued a challenge.
Instead of Allin facing Danielson for the title at the Grand Slam Dynamite in New York, Moxley will face Allin for the title shot.
Nigel McGuinness saw this opening and stepped up to challenge Danielson to a non-title match at Grand Slam.
This match would take place 15 years after the classic Ring Of Honor title match between McGuinness and Danielson.
CASINO GAUNTLET
According to AEW announcer Excalibur, 21 tag teams were lined up in the dressing room for the Casino Gauntlet Tag Team match.
Nine of them made it to the ring before Will Ospreay & Kyle Fletcher won the bout by defeating Top Flight’s Dante Martin.
As a result, Ospreay & Fletcher will challenge The Young Bucks for the tag team title at Grand Slam.
Women’s champion Mariah May defeated Queen Aminata in a non-title match. The champ is still borrowing the Storm Zero piledriver from Toni Storm.
Jack Perry retained his TNT with a victory over Lio Rush.
Ricochet moved up the ladder of contention for Ospreay’s International title with a win over Sammy Guevara.
Chris Jericho teamed up with Big Bill & Bryan Keith to beat The Iron Savages and Jacked Jameson.
After the match, Orange Cassidy repaid the $7,000 that he owed Jericho by dumping a giant pile of pennies into Jericho’s Bentley.
