Injuries Are Still the Story for the Cleveland Browns in Week 4
On Sunday September 29th ,2024 at 4:25 pm eastern time, the Cleveland Browns and the Las Vegas Raiders play their 4th game of the 2024 season in Las Vegas Nevada. Both teams had disappointing week 3 losses at their home stadium. The Raiders lost to the Carolina Panthers by a score of 36-22. And the Browns lost to the New York Giants 21-15. Both teams’ records are 1-2. Also, injuries for both the Raiders and the Browns are a storyline going into this game.
The Raiders lost their starting safety Marcus Epps for the season after tearing his ACL against the Carolina Panthers. And the Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby was reported to having a high ankle sprain. He is expected to play Sunday. LB Tommy Eichenberg has a knee injury. LB Divine Deablo was out last week with an oblique injury and concussion. OT Kolton Miller was listed with a shoulder injury. The Cleveland Browns injury list seems to get longer every week.
Cleveland Browns players that did not practice on Wednesday were DE Myles Garrett foot ankle thigh, RB Jerome Ford knee, RB Pierre Strong hamstring, OT Jack Conklin hamstring, OT Jed Wills knee, LB Jordan Hicks ribs and elbow, and TE David Njoku ankle. Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski has not ruled any of these players out for Sunday’s game at Las Vegas. The question is how can the Browns handle this adversity?
The Browns did sign veteran OT Germain Ifedi from the practice squad. Rookie guard Zak Zinter will be called into service after G Wyatt Teller was placed on injured reserve. For the Browns it is a similar situation to last year. They have the next man up mentality with game preparation. That might be the best way to handle the injuries. It also might be the only way.
