Hello World, Jayden Daniels Is Here
If you’re a football fan, chances are you probably already know who Jayden Daniels was before the season started.
Now, even if you’re a casual football fan, you know who Jayden Daniels is after his performance on Monday Night Football.
Daniels led the Commanders to a 38-33 win over the Bengals on Monday night in a seemingly perfect performance.
Finishing 21-23 for 254 yards and two touchdowns. Daniels’ 91.3% completion percentage set a new NFL rookie record.
“He is as composed of a rookie as I’ve seen and at the hardest position in football,” Washington guard Nick Allegretti said.
“If that guy’s stressed, everyone else tightens up. So he may not be doing it on purpose, but his composure composes the entire offense.”
That calmness that has moved through the Washington offseason has led to the unit scoring on 14 consecutive drives which didn’t end in a kneel down.
Capping off those scoring drives was one where Daniels and the Commanders put the game away after the Bengals pulled the game within a score.
Facing an all-out blitz heading toward him, Jayden Daniels stuck in the pocket and dropped a 27-yard bomb right into the hands of Terry McLaurin for the game-sealing touchdown.
“When we needed it most, Jayden did a great job of taking a hit,” said McLaurin who has played for a multitude of quarterbacks during his time in Washington.
The QB carrousel has been a real one for the Commanders but it looks like Jayden Daniels might bring it to a halt.
“The only word I can really say is hope,” guard Sam Cosmi said “I believe. We believe.”
