Gunther Beats Sami Zayn, Will Face Cody Rhodes at WWE Crown Jewel

Sami Zayn did not have another “magic bullet” to beat Gunther last night on Monday Night Raw.

After ending Gunther’s 666-day Intercontinental title reign at WrestleMania XL, Zayn challenged “The Ring General” for the World title.

Gunther put Zayn away with the sleeper hold to retain the belt.

That means Gunther will face WWE champion Cody Rhodes in Saudi Arabia for the “Crown Jewel” title on Nov. 2.

Liv Morgan vs. Nia Jax is the other champion vs. champion match set up for the women’s Crown Jewel title.

Speaking of Rhodes, Kevin Owens attacked him after Saturday’s Bad Blood show. WWE cameras did not film this incident, and it was circulated over the weekend on social media.

Intercontinental champion Jey Uso also retained his title with a victory over Xavier Woods. After the match, former champion Bron Breakker attacked both men.
