Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Wishlist, Week 9

Another week is in the books. As always, there were huge breakouts from under-the-radar players and dud performances from supposed studs. If you’re looking to shake things up for your Fantasy roster ahead of Week 8, here’s some players to add from the Waiver Wire.

Note: All fantasy advice in this article is based on PPR scoring unless otherwise stated.

QUARTERBACKS

SAM HOWELL | WASHINGTON COMMANDERS

Howell continues to defy fantasy expectations for most. Not for me. Howell and this offense are good enough to take advantage of bad secondaries, which Philadelphia has. The schedule gets tougher from here on out, but with so many QBs hurt or on Bye.

WILL LEVIS | TENNESSEE TITANS

Is Levis the next great AFC QB? Way too early to tell that, and despite the Steelers propensity for giving up big yards to opposing QBs, the TNF matchup in Pittsburgh will be a tough spot for the Rookie. Still, with the uncertainty at the position, adding Levis if you have room is a great idea.

RUNNING BACKS

CHUBA HUBBARD | CAROLINA PANTHERS

As I suggested in a recent version of this article, Hubbard indeed has taken over as the RB1 in Carolina, and that’s enough to make him a viable FLEX option moving forward. He’s a priority add if he’s available in your league.

EMARI DEMERCADO | ARIZONA CARDINALS

Another week, another appearance for Demercado. He has 3 outings of 9+ ppr fantasy points in his last 4 outings. He’s not going to win your week for you, but he can provide a decent floor in a pinch.

ZACH CHARBONNET | SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

In deeper leagues, Charbonnet has some stand-alone value. With Ken Walker battling some nagging injuries the last couple weeks, the Rookie is a valueable handcuff and could continue to see an increased workload as the season progresses.

WIDE RECEIVERS

BRANDIN COOKS | DALLAS COWBOYS

Cooks is starting to, well, cook in Dallas the last few weeks as the Cowboys offense has gotten more consistent. He’s a boom or bust player, but worth an add if you’re needing bye week help or some high upside depth.

QUENTIN JOHNSTON | LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

With Joshua Palmer going down with an injury on Sunday, Johnston got some more run in the high-powered Chargers offense and showed a little of what made him an enticing prospect and a first round pick. Palmer did return to the game, but if the oft-injured Keenan Allen misses any time or the Palmer injury lingers into the coming weeks, Johnston could be a high-value add.

RASHID SHAHEED | NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

Shaheed is big-play machine and Derek Carr trusts him a lot. If you’re swinging for the fences on a WR bye week, the speedster is a fun play.

TIGHT ENDS

TREY MCBRIDE | ARIZONA CARDINALS

With Zach Ertz out for the rest of the season and Kyler Murray on the mend, McBride could become a Waiver Wire steal if you can get him. He had his psuedo-breakout performance in Week 8 and for a thin position could be a boost to your roster.

JAKE FERGUSON | DALLAS COWBOYS

A lot of managers dropped Ferguson a few weeks ago after a couple less-than-stellar performances. He’s back on the map though after a big weekend against the Rams. A TD scored and a bevy of high-value targets in Week 8 return the 2nd year TE to the spotlight. Add him.

WEEK 8 STREAMERS
