Cleveland Cavaliers 2024 Training Camp Preview

On October 1st ,2024, the Cleveland Cavaliers will start training camp to prepare for the 2024 / 2025 season. This year’s camp will be held for the first 6 days at IMG Academy in Bradenton Florida. This is like the Cleveland Browns starting their training camp at the Greenbrier in West Virginia. The Cavaliers are the first NBA team to hold their training camp at the IMG Academy. Cavaliers President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman considers this a unique opportunity for the team to prepare for the upcoming season.

October 1st to the 6th ,2024, are the dates for the Cavaliers to begin their training camp in Florida. Much like the 2023 and 2024 Browns the team building of starting training camp in sequestered environment can be immeasurable. Every team’s season comes with adversity, how the team handles that adversity will determine success or failure. And how the players come together as a team will be the tell of the organization. The Cavaliers do have success to build off from the 2023/2024 season.

Last season ended with an Eastern Conference semifinals playoff loss to the Boston Celtics. The injuries took too much of a toll on the team. C Jarrett Allen could not play because of his rib injury. The Cavaliers feel that anything less than an Eastern Conference Finals appearance would be a failure for the 2024 / 2025 season.  Which is why it is important to get off to the right start.

With the offseason moves of Donovan Mitchell, Jarett Allen, and Evan Mobley’s contract extensions, the Cavaliers are committed to having a winning team for the years to come. This is also why they made the change at head coach as well. J.B. Bickerstaff was replaced by Kenny Atkinson in the 2024 offseason. There is hope for a new beginning with the Cleveland Cavaliers and that starts in Florida October 1st.
