Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 2: Add Isaiah Likely and Justice Hill

Week 1 is always an interesting time in fantasy football. Everyone is 0-0, eager to start their journey toward a fantasy championship. Some woke up this morning feeling sick to their stomach because their team didn’t live up to lofty expectations (I’m right there with you). Others are already looking forward to Week 2. If you’re like me and off to a rocky start, don’t panic—losing Week 1 isn’t the end of the world. In fact, you get priority on waiver pickups. Let’s dive into five players you should consider adding to your league this week.

TE Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens (9% Rostered on ESPN)

You “likely” (sorry, you’ve likely seen this a few times) saw this one coming. Isaiah Likely looked every bit like the Ravens’ top tight end in Week 1. If he’s already on your roster, you’re ahead of the curve. Likely finished the game with 9 receptions on 12 targets for 111 yards and a touchdown, racking up 26.1 points in full PPR formats. As we all know, Lamar Jackson loves targeting his tight ends, and Likely has been someone I’ve liked for the past two years. I just didn’t expect him to surpass Mark Andrews as the primary TE. Whether or not Andrews is on a snap count, Likely is a top priority waiver target heading into Week 2.

WR Wan’Dale Robinson, New York Giants (7% Rostered on ESPN)

While Malik Nabers may eventually emerge as the Giants’ #1 wide receiver, don’t sleep on Wan’Dale Robinson. Against the Vikings, Robinson outpaced Nabers in targets, 12-7. Daniel Jones consistently looked his way, making Robinson a no-brainer add—especially with a matchup against a vulnerable Commanders secondary on the horizon. As long as Jones is the QB, Robinson will be a solid option in full PPR leagues.

RB Justice Hill, Baltimore Ravens (3% Rostered on ESPN)

Hill’s Week 1 performance may have been shaped by game script, but if you’re looking for a running back with receiving upside, Justice Hill is worth a look. He hauled in 6 receptions on 8 targets for 52 yards. Hill has explosive potential when healthy, and while Derrick Henry is clearly the lead back in Baltimore, Hill could provide valuable points in two-minute drills or passing situations. He’s worth the pickup.

WR Brandin Cooks, Dallas Cowboys (29% Rostered on ESPN)

Somebody else has to catch the ball in Dallas, and Brandin Cooks looks primed to be the Cowboys’ second option. With TE Jake Ferguson sidelined due to an MCL sprain, Cooks could build on his Week 1 performance, where he posted 4 receptions on 7 targets for 40 yards and a touchdown against one of the league’s top secondaries. Cooks is a solid option moving forward.

WR Greg Dortch, Arizona Cardinals (1% Rostered on ESPN)

On a team featuring Marvin Harrison Jr. and Trey McBride, Greg Dortch finished second in targets in Week 1, seeing 8 passes come his way. He led the Cardinals in receiving yards with 47, finishing with 11.1 fantasy points. While I wouldn’t bet on him continuing to lead the team in receiving yards—especially as Harrison Jr. starts to gain momentum—Dortch is worth a pickup in deeper leagues.

Honorable Mention:

WR Adonai Mitchell, Indianapolis Colts (33.4% Rostered on ESPN)

Adonai Mitchell was just a couple of inches away from a huge Week 1 performance. Anthony Richardson missed him on a few key throws, and had they connected, we’d be talking about how Mitchell was one of the biggest steals in drafts. Unfortunately, those missed passes happened, and with Josh Downs eventually returning, Mitchell’s role could be in flux. However, for now, he may be worth a stash until we see how things shake out once Downs is back in the mix.
