Bold and Bizarre Predictions for Steelers vs. Colts, Week 15
The promise of a new black-and-gold day after the dismissal of Matt Canada as OC in the Steel City is now merely the equivalent of a high school male lying to get a naive sophomore into the sack. Kenny Pickett is still injured, the wide receivers are pouting and the defense that would bend is all of a sudden breaking. Of course, with everything going on, there comes a whole lotta predictions.
With that being said, SCN’s resident Nostradumbass is back to do the deed again this week as the Steelers battle the Colts. The following are predictions, some basic, some bold and some absolutely bizarre.
- Mitch Trubisky gets risky. No. 10 gets 20 yards on the ground and throws for 185 yards with a touchdown pass. However, the boldness produces two picks, one returned for six.
- Jaylen Warren hauls-in a Mitch pass for the score. His celebration falters though, as an attempt to honor the 250th Anniversary to the day of the Boston Tea Party fails as there is no tea bags at Lucas Oil Field and no ocean nearby.
- George Pickens goes for 100 yards for the first time since Los Angeles, as the powers that be extend his route tree. But doesn’t reach the end zone. No. 14’s postgame interview is conducted all in third person and concludes with the introduction of the talented receiver’s new life coach, Antonio Brown.
- Pat Freiermuth is targeted only four times and pulls in every last one of them. But not enough to make a difference.
- Chris Boswell is a perfect 2-for-2 on the day with a long of 54 yards. The 54-yarder is Boz’s 30th from 50-plus of his career.
- Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren run well against a defense that doesn’t stop the run with fervor, combining for over 140 yards. Both Jaylen and Najee score touchdowns, one on the ground and one on a pass, but their efforts move each further away from becoming only the second Steelers duo to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season.
- T.J. Watt wears a visor from the very start, and it propels him to get three sacks of Gardner Minshew to up his season total to 17 and the NFL lead. However elsewhere, Miles Garrett’s no-sack performance cements the Cleveland Brown the NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award.
- Joey Porter Jr. and Minkah Fitzpatrick both get interceptions on passes thrown by Minshew.
- Elandon Roberts sets a new team record with 18 tackles on the prevening.
- The Steelers defense surrenders a 100+ rushing game to Zach Moss.
Presley Harvin III hits only one punt inside-the-20 as his road woes continue. - The Steelers fall to 7-7, as their total-team efforts continue to not be playoff caliber.
Will any of this actually happen? I’ll bet at least one or two. Heck, maybe every one of them. Be sure to post your predictions — basic or bizarre — below.
