Eagles vs Falcons: Injury Report for Week 2
Week 2 is here, and it’s time to dive into the injury reports for the Eagles and Falcons as they prepare for their matchup. Unfortunately, the Eagles will be without star wide receiver A.J. Brown. Let’s break down both teams’ injury statuses and what they mean for each squad.
Eagles Injury Report
OUT
WR A.J. Brown (Hamstring)
Brown appeared on the injury report late in the week due to hamstring tightness. His status worsened as the week progressed, going from limited practice to a “Did Not Practice” (DNP) designation. While his absence will be felt, this is exactly why the Eagles traded for Jahan Dotson. Expect to see a rotation of Johnny Wilson, Britain Covey, and Parris Campbell in his place.
Questionable
WR Johnny Wilson (Hamstring)
With Brown sidelined, Wilson will likely play a key role, though he’s also dealing with a hamstring issue. While he seems on track to play, hamstring injuries tend to linger, so the Eagles will need to be cautious.
PUP, IR, ETC.
S Sydney Brown (PUP)
Brown tore his ACL last season and has shown promising signs of recovery during camp. While he looks ahead of schedule, he remains on the PUP list and will miss the first four games of the season.
S James Bradberry (IR)
Bradberry sustained a lower-body injury shortly after roster cutdowns and is expected to be out for 6-8 weeks. The Eagles’ decision to keep him on the active roster before moving him to IR remains unclear.
WR Ainias Smith (IR)
Smith dealt with ankle discomfort following the third preseason game and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks as a result. Though he started camp slowly, he showed improvement before his injury.
TE Albert Okwuegbunam (IR)
Albert O is currently on IR with a core muscle injury, but the Eagles see potential in him, using an IR-designated return spot on him durin roster cutdowns.
Falcons Injury Report
OUT
LB Nate Landman (Calf/Quad)
Landman, an inside linebacker, will be a somewhat significant loss for the Falcons after tallying 110 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and an interception last season. He did not practice all week and is ruled out.
CB Antonio Hamilton (Groin)
Hamilton made progress throughout the week, moving from a DNP to limited practice, but ultimately has been ruled out for this game.
PUP, IR, ETC.
WR Rondale Moore (IR)
The former Arizona Cardinal has struggled to find his footing in the NFL. He was traded to Atlanta for QB Desmond Ridder and now finds himself on IR.
S DeMarcco Hellams (IR)
Hellams started 4 games last year as a rookie, totaling 40 tackles. He begins the season on IR.
EDGE Bralen Trice (IR)
Trice, the Falcons’ third-round pick in this year’s draft, tore his ACL in the first preseason game and will miss the season.
