Eagles Beat Rams 28-22, Advance to NFC Championship

THE EAGLES ARE GOING TO THE NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!

The Eagles gritted out a 28-22 victory over the Los Angeles Rams to advance to the NFC Championship, where they’ll face the Washington Commanders. While the win wasn’t always pretty, the team stepped up when it mattered most. Let’s dive into the key takeaways from this thrilling matchup.

1. Saquon Barkley is Not Human

Saquon Barkley continues to dominate the Rams, racking up over 550 scrimmage yards against them this season. When the Eagles needed him most, Saquon delivered two jaw-dropping touchdown runs—one for 62 yards and another for 78 yards—that turned the game in their favor.

It’s no stretch to say Saquon is the most talented running back in Eagles history. His ability to take over games in key moments makes him a true game-changer.

2. Jalen Hurts Was Up and Down

Hurts had an uneven game, though much of the blame lies with the offensive line, which allowed 12 of the 14 quarterback hurries. The snow also played a factor, causing issues for the entire offense.

Hurts injured his leg on a hip-drop tackle in the third quarter but gutted it out to finish the game. While he didn’t run much after the injury, he made the throws he needed to in key moments. His health will be something to monitor heading into the NFC Championship.

3. Big Play Slay Turns Back the Clock

Big Play Slay was phenomenal, recording three pass breakups and nearly securing an interception. If this is Slay’s final season, he’s doing everything in his power to end it with a ring. His veteran leadership and stellar play were critical in keeping the Rams’ passing game in check.

4. Kellen Moore’s Play Calling Was Questionable

The offensive game plan from Kellen Moore left much to be desired. Poor situational play calling, like a pass play on the Eagles’ 5-yard line that resulted in a safety, had fans scratching their heads.

While Moore has shown promise this season, he’ll need to clean up his decision-making if the Eagles want to continue their Super Bowl run.

5. Jalen Carter Saved the Season

Jalen Carter proved once again why he’s one of the most dominant defensive linemen in the league. Despite being double-teamed for much of the game, Carter delivered when it mattered most, recording two sacks and two tackles for loss.

His game-sealing sack on Matthew Stafford with just over a minute left ensured the Eagles’ victory and their trip to the NFC Championship.

Final Thoughts

Isaiah Rodgers stepped up admirably in place of Quinyon Mitchell, holding his own against the Rams’ receivers.

DeVonta Smith broke the Eagles’ postseason receiving yardage record—congratulations to him!

Quinyon Mitchell remains optimistic about returning for the NFC Championship.

Oren Burks played solid football, even making a few standout plays.

CJ Gardner-Johnson had an up-and-down game but made a crucial tackle on Kyren Williams.

Moro Ojomo’s first career sack came at a critical moment in the game.

Jalyx Hunt is showing signs of progress, which bodes well for the future.

The Eagles will face the Washington Commanders next Sunday at 3 PM EST on FOX. One more win, and the Birds will head to New Orleans to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.
