Drew McIntyre to CM Punk: It’s Not Over Yet
CM Punk was looking forward to challenging Gunther for the World title after beating Drew McIntyre in a strap match at Bash in Berlin.
However, that feud is still not over. McIntyre unleashed a vicious attack on Monday Night Raw after Punk’s celebratory speech.
Drew destroyed Punk’s family bracelet and shoved the beads down his throat.
This brought back memories from Ring Of Honor, where Tommy Dreamer & Raven poured beer down the throat of the non-drinking Punk.
BRAUN BOUNCES BACK
Braun Strowman returned from last week’s attack by Bronson Reed, who crushed him into the roof of a car.
Strowman replaced Reed (who was out sick) and won a Triple Threat match over Sheamus and Ludvig Kaiser in the Intercontinental contenders’ tournament.
In another IC tournament match, Ilya Dragunov defeated Dragon Lee & Dominick Mysterio.
That means Dragunov, Strowman, Jey Uso, and Pete Dunne will compete in a four-way match to see who will challenge Bron Breakker for the IC belt.
Chad Gable’s new American Made team (The Creed Brothers & Ivy Nile) beat his old Alpha Academy team (Akira Tozawa, Otis & Maxxine Dupri).
Gable challenged the Wyatt Sicks to an eight-person street fight next week.
SAMI STEPS UP
Sami Zayn said he wanted to challenge Gunther for the World title. He wanted to join Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, and Randy Savage as Intercontinental champs who went on to win the big one.
Remember, Zayn is the one who ended Gunther’s 666-day reign with the IC title at WrestleMania 40.
Shayna Baszler beat Zelina Vega in another win for the Pure Fusion Collective faction.
In the main event, Damien Priest & Jey Uso beat the tag team champions, Finn Balor & JD McDonagh, in a non-title match.
While this would seem to make them top contenders for the tag belts, The New Day requested a shot at the belts, which they have held nine times.
