Dodgers Legend Clayton Kershaw To Make Season Debut On Thursday

The injury-riddled Dodgers rotation will finally get a boost on Thursday afternoon when team legend Clayton Kershaw makes his season debut against the rival San Francisco Giants.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts announced the news following LA’s 7-6 victory in 11 innings over the Red Sox on Saturday.

Kershaw underwent left shoulder surgery back in November forcing a delay to his 17th MLB season.

In his last rehab start for AAA OKC on Friday, Kershaw went four innings allowing three runs on six hits with two strikeouts and no walks.

Last season, Kershaw went 13-5 with a 2.46 ERA in 131.2 innings pitched.

Much like the rest of the Dodgers, Kershaw experienced a rough postseason which saw him get just one out and give up six runs in game one of the NLDS against the eventual National League Champion Arizona Diamondbacks.

Currently, the Dodgers lead the MLB with 11 pitchers on the IL but Kershaw won’t be the only one helping bring that number down this week.

Tyler Glasnow will make his return from the IL on Wednesday to make his first start in a couple of weeks.

Glasnow and Kershaw will help the Dodgers rotation start to rebuild as it was also announced this week that Yoshinobu Yamamoto still hopes to return before the postseason.

With a little less than two and a half months to go, the Dodgers haven’t been one of the greatest teams of all time like a lot of people thought but to say they haven’t been a major success would be a lie.

Los Angeles sits at 59-41 on the season which is the second-best record in the National League.

Overall, this Dodgers team is only getting better once they get to full strength but as we know with L.A, what happens in October will be what is remembered about a team.
