Deion Sanders Vocal About Where He Wants His Sons to be Drafted
There are only a few weeks left in the NFL regular season. That means it is time for the teams out of the race to prepare their draft boards. For the Las Vegas Raiders, there are plenty of routes they could go. You could draft best player available, which is likely Travis Hunter. Or, they do the sensible thing and draft the quarterback of the future. Needless to say, there is a player that was put on the radar and by none other than Deion Sanders.
Sanders Plants His Flag
Las Vegas always has plenty of things going on. That’s the nature of being a big city and a city that attracts a lot of tourists. There was an event held in Las Vegas, where Sanders attended and was also on stage with Antonio Pierce. As everyone knows, Pierce is the head coach of the Raiders, who also hold the second overall pick in the draft. Sanders made it clear to voice his opinion and plant his flag among the Raiders brass.
While on the stage, Sanders grabbed the microphone and told Pierce, “You are truly the best,” Deion told Pierce. “Now I just need you to do one thing: I need you to draft those Sanders boys.”
Oh wait, there’s TWO?! There sure are. Shedur Sanders is the quarterback of the Colorado Buffaloes and could very well be the first quarterback selected among the crop of talent. Then there is also Shilo, who is among the secondary on the Buffaloes.
That’s not all though. Sanders was seen driving through the city of Las Vegas and just made a video of the stadium and said “Legendary”. It sounds like the Sanders family has an attraction and appeal to the Silver and Black. Given they will have a top selection in the upcoming draft, the Raiders should show an attraction to Sanders.
The Raiders and Sanders Could Be a Good Marriage
Whoever the Raiders select as a quarterback (if they choose), will be married to them for a few seasons. The Raiders and Sanders could be a great marriage. The offense is a complete mess. They have no run game. The pass game has potential and the potential to be better. Rookie Tight End Brock Bowers has been amazing for the team. Jakobi Meyers is a playmaker as well as the speedster Tre Tucker. All they need is the arm talent.
Aidan O’Connell has shown the tools to be successful at the NFL level, but will likely have to compete for a starting job. He should’ve been the starter this year and will finish the year as the starter. The Gardner Minshew experiment is over (thankfully), but after how this season has gone it is clear as day that the Raiders need a quarterback. Enter Sanders.
Sanders is as dynamic as they come. He has the arm talent and can sling it down the field. Sanders has 3,926 yards (his best) and a 74.2 completion percentage. His longest throw is 69 yards and he has thrown 35 touchdowns to his eight interceptions. Also, he can get it done on the ground and isn’t afraid to make plays with his legs. He would be a dynamic presence for the Raiders and also enjoy the spotlight.
Sanders (Deion) has put the Buffaloes on the map and turned that program around. They’ve been the center of attention and Sanders (Shedur) also has enjoyed the spotlight. He will have plenty of spotlight in Vegas and would thrive.
Sanders advocates for his sons to be Raiders. Now it’s up to the Raiders to make the selection. Cam Ward and Quinn Ewers are also players that will be highly coveted at the position, so there are options.
