Death Riders Turn Out the Lights on AEW Rampage
Rampage began as All Elite Wrestlingâs No. 2 television show in 2021. It later dropped to No. 3 behind Dynamite and Collision, and now itâs gone.
The final episode of Rampage, called âNew Yearâs Smash,â aired last night on TNT.
Jon Moxley and the Death Riders started the final brawl by attacking Darby Allin backstage and throwing him down the stairs. Just a typical Friday night for Darby.
Komander, Orange Cassidy, and Willow Nightingale confronted the Death Riders in the ring, starting a huge brawl as other wrestlers joined them.
Pac smashed the control panel with a hammer, literally turning out the lights on AEW Rampage.
KING OF NEW YORK?
Chris Jericho is calling himself the King of New York during the companyâs shows at Hammerstein Ballroom. He faced Anthony Bowens in the opener.
Jerichoâs Ring Of Honor title was not on the line, but it was part of the finish. Bryan Keith tried to use the belt as a weapon but got into a tug-of-war with Max Caster.
Caster won the tussle but knocked out his Acclaimed partner, Bowens, with the belt. Jericho scored the victory.
(Fun fact: I wrote a World Wrestling Federation history book called King of New York.)
AEW tag team champions Private Party scored a quick win over Alec Price & Leo Sparrow. After the match, the champs brawled with Top Flight and Lio Rush & Action Andretti.
Thunder Rosa defeated Leila Gray to prepare for her title shot against Mariah May at the Worldâs End pay-per-view on Saturday night.
Hook defeated Nick Wayne to begin taking revenge on The Patriarchy for injuring his father, Taz. Fortunately for the family, Taz has returned to the AEW commentary booth.
ZERO HOUR MATCHES
AEW announced the matches for the Zero Hour preshow for the World’s End PPV.
Jeff Jarrett was supposed to host the show with Renee Paquette and RJ City. Instead, he will be in action against QT Marshall.
Other Zero Hour matches include Toni Storm vs. Leila Gray; and The Outrunners & Top Flight vs. Lio Rush, Action Andretti, Brian Cage, and Lance Archer.
