Dallas Stars Officially Launch Free End To End Streaming Service Victory Plus
The Dallas Stars will help make sports history when they begin their 2024/2025 season. Sure expectations for the Stars are very high and that history could be lifting the Stanley Cup.
However, this history is a little different.
Victory Plus has officially been launched marking the first free end-to-end, direct-to-consumer, sports streaming service for a professional team.
“We’re willing to pioneer this and see if it’s the future for local sports,” Stars President and CEO Brad Alberts said.
Stars fans in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas will have free access to all 69 regional broadcasts. The remaining games will be shown nationally on ESPN, ESPN+, or TNT.
Longtime broadcasters Josh Bogorad and Daryl “Razor” Reaugh will remain in their receptive roles in the booth as well as Brien Rea and former NHL player Brent Severyn continuing their pre and post-game coverage.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Stars held a launch party in DFW to officially open the app which is now available for fans to access on their phones, laptops, smart TV’s, and more.
Stars forward Matt Duchene and Head Coach Peter DeBoer were on hand to launch the app. Rap artist Nelly was there to perform as well as the stars from Dude Perfect to add some flare to the party.
Victory Plus will be the home of the Stars for at least seven years after the two sides agreed to a contract this offseason.
Looking at the broader spectrum, Victory Plus will allow the sport of hockey to continue to grow in the DFW metroplex.
