Cowboys/Giants Stars Parsons, Nabers Exit With Injuries
The Dallas Cowboys took down the New York Giants by a score of 20-15 on Thursday Night Football but both teams lost stars to injury.
For the Cowboys, their defensive star Micah Parsons left the game with 3:30 left due to an apparent ankle injury.
X-rays taken on Parsons inside Metlife Stadium were negative but the Cowboys and Parsons were far from off the hook.
Parsons who underwent an MRI on Friday suffered what the Cowboys fear could be a high ankle sprain according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
“He’s a helluva player. Big-time playmaker,” quarterback Dak Prescott said. “I’m not watching a lot, but [he] made a huge run stop right there on one of those last possessions.
And then honestly, I’m just hoping it’s not anything serious. There’s not a lot of doubts or negative thoughts that go through my head, so, yeah, I didn’t even want to think anything major.
Hoping that my thoughts are right and it’s something small. He looked in good spirits, so I’m in good spirits. We’re in good spirits.”
For the Giants, rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers left the game with a concussion after his facemask slammed into the turf in the 4th quarter.
Before exiting, Nabers made history becoming the first player in NFL history to record at least 25 receptions and three touchdowns in his first four NFL games.
On the night, Nabers had 12 catches for 115 yards in the best game of his young NFL career which is only getting started.
“He’s doing some good things,” coach Brian Daboll said. “Again, glad we have him.”
Both the Cowboys and the Giants will have the next ten days off which will aid in the recoveries of their respective stars.
