On day 40, we remember one of the fastest men to ever wear Red and Black, Jakeem Grant. Why day 40? Because this dude had the audacity, the sheer hutzpah, to turn in a 4.10 40 time at the NFL Combine. Jakeem Grant was one of the best receivers to wear the colors. Grant went for 90 passes with1,268 yards and 10 touchdowns in his final season, which broke Biletnikoff Award winner Michael Crabtree’s school record in career yardage.

When you have your name talked about along the likes of Crabtree, a Red Raider legend, you know you had a hell of a career. Grant will be remembered for a few moments, perhaps by most for Little Man Big World to secure a win over Texas. Or all the short passes he broke for huge gains. However you remember him, his speed and tenacity will never be forgotten on the South Plaines. His NFL career might not have gone quite the way he planned, but the dude can straight ball.
