Texas Tech Rebuilds in the Trenches

Two massive, figuratively and literally, additions to Texas Tech in a an area of need. We all know that the offensive line play this season was mediocre or poor all year. Tahj was running through contact at the line regularly, and quarterbacks did not have the time to develop Kittley’s route trees.

So this offseason no position loomed larger than the boys in the trenches. And the early results have been outstanding. Just about 45 minutes ago Davion Carter, the #25 rated portal option and #4 OL, out of Memphis committed. And just the other day, Toledo OG Vinny Sciury committed. Sciury is one of the highest graded pass blockers in the nation out of Toledo.

The trenches are where games are won and lost in football, and lately the offensive side has been losing that battle. But with these additions, and hopefully some more,  and the receivers coming in the offense looks prepared to take a leap forward in year three.

Nothing is guaranteed in life, but getting bigger and nastier upfront is the surest path to success.
